THE DARK KNIGHT - 2005 Graduate Melissa Bradac is currently in working in Chicgao on the latest Batman film starring Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger, and directed by Christopher Nolan.


AVATAR - 2004 MPI Graduate Sarah Goller is now working on the new James Cameron sci-fi fearure Avatar shooting in LA.


SUMMER FILM CAMPS 2007 - MPI ran two summer film camps for high school students. (read more).


MPI DOUBLES IN SIZE - In January 2007 we doubled our size taking over an additional 4,000 square feet of space. We've added two additional classrooms, a new lobby, conference room, offices, 500 square foot stage, and an expanded equipment & camera prep area.


HAT TO THA BACC - Music Video - 2005 MPI grads Gary Wohlfeill and Alfred Tomaszewski are at it again. They just finished posting a music video for WESTERN UNION featuring SNOOP DOGG. The production was shot last month in LA using MPIs HVX200 HD camera. Along with Matt (director), Gary lit and shot the video while Alfred acted as producer. Check it out. (click here).


GHOST ADVENTURES - Congratulations to MPI 2002 graduate Zak Bagans whose documentary "Ghost Adventures" which aired on the SCI-FI CHANNELlast month Wednesday, JULY 25th at 9:00 p.m. Check it out for reairings.


KATHRYN McDERMOTT - Is returning to MPI's Instructional staff for the 2007-08 school year. Kathryn has worked in feature film production for over the past 27 years in Los Angeles. From 1995 to 2005 she worked as Vice President of Production Administration at Columbia Pictures overseeing the productions of “CharliesAngels 1 &2”, “Memoirs of a Geisha”, “Fun with Dick & Jane”, “Closer”, “Hitch”, & “Spiderman 1 & 2” just to name a few.

Prior to that she has worked as Production Manager on “Striking Distance” (starring Bruce Willis), Assistant to the Producer on “Last of the Mohicans”, “A League of Their Own”, “Only the Lonely”, “Career Opportunities” and was associate producer on “First Knight” (starring Richard Gere and Sean Connery) and “My Life” (starring Nicole Kidman and Michael Keaton.)


FRAME FORGE 3D - MPI just added storyboarding and animatic software to the Film Directing 3 curriculum. Students are trained to use the software for planning their film projects.


SLIPSTREAM - MPI 1999 graduate Jana Thompson is featured in th feature film Slipstream starring Anthony Hopkins and directed by Werner Herzog. The film is premiering January 20th at the Sundance Film Festival.


THE RAIN - MPI FEATURE LAB in connection with Dead Wait Productions LLC is co-producing the feature film "The Rain" starring Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extraterrestrial, The Howling, Cujo) read more....


NEVERMORE - MPI 2000 Graduate Tom Zambeck just wrapped production on his first directorial effort and indy feature, Nevermore, starring Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire), and Vincent Spano (Alive, Baby Its You, Indian Summer).


ELECTRIC SIX VIDEO - MPI 2003 graduate Kris Kaczor recently directed the music video "Mr. Woman" for the band Electric Six. Click on above to check it out. Kris is currently preparing to shoot a video for the Detroit band Suicide Machines.


ONE WILD KNIGHT - MPI 1999 graduate Brian Mitchell is premiering his first indy feature "One Wild Knight" Friday, November 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the AMC/Star Southfield 20 theater. Check it out.


ANTI-FLAG VIDEO - MPI 2005 graduates Gary Wohlfeill and Alfred Tomaszewski shoot music video for the band Anti-Flag at MPI.


SCARING THE FISH - MPI 1999 Graduate Todd Miller just recently completed his directorial debut on this comedy shot in New York starring Max Casella (The Soprano's) and Anthony Rapp (A Beautiful Mind, Roadtrip).


THE ROUTE - MPI 2005 graduate and first time director Steve Horn recently finished his first feature which premiered at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. Learn more....

MATT MOLITOR - MPI 1999 Grad Matt Molitor is director of photography on the the feature Dark Honeymoon starring Daryl Hannah, Roy Scheider, Eric Roberts and Tia Carrere. The film will be released in 2007.


DETROIT UNLEADED - MPI 1999 Grad and Writer / Director Rola Nashef recently produced a dramatic 16mm film short focusing a young Arab man running his deceased father's gas station in Detroit. The film has recently played at the Seattle Film Festival and is scheduled to play at the San Franscico Film Festival this October.
