MPI INSTALLS NEW FINAL CUT SYSTEM

Last month MPI purchased and installed the latest MacPro workstation with Final Cut 6.0.4 in order to edit the Rain Chronicles feature. Apple has partnered with RED Digital Cinema over the last few years to offer a streamline integration of their R3D files codec for editing in Final Cut and Scratch. The MPI MacPro system has the dual quad core 3.2 Ghz intel processors with 16 gigs of RAM and includes the AJA Kona 3 card, ATTO Celerity Fiber Channel Card, and the G-Technology 4.5 terabyte Fiber Channel RAID configured for RAID 5. At MPI we plan to transcode our files to 2k DPX to integrate with the Super 35mm segment of the film that was transferred to a digital intermediate in 2k DPX. This screamingly fast machine should let us edit and color grade in the 2k resolution for output to 35mm.



FEATURE LAB - THE RAIN CHRONICLES - CONTINUED

MPI Feature Lab will embark this Fall with the concluding segment of The Rain Chronicles saga. This segment will take the story back to the 1800s to unravel the mystery of the curse that plagues the remote farming village of Perseverance.
