FEATURE LAB - THE RAIN CHRONICLES

The MPI Feature Lab began May 29th and in currently in production on the film The Rain Chronicles starring Dee Wallac and Richard Lynch. The film is the first FEATURE project in Michigan to utilize the RED ONE Digital camera system. MPI students are learning first hand the operation of this revolutionary camera. More to follow.


MICHIGAN TAX INCENTIVES

State of Michigan just signed into law on Monday April 7th the largest tax incentive package for film production in the country. The tax package will offer films up to a 40% tax credit on a wide variety of film, commerical, music video documentary and a variety of other motion picture productions.

EX1 NOW AVAILABLE

MPI received shipment of its second Sony PWM-EX1 hi-def camera.. This new camera by Sony is the latest in their line of CineAlta camera products. The EX1 shoots in a variety of HD formats including 1080p/24p with variable framerates. The 1/2" 3CMOS sensors give the camera better selective focus capabilities than another camer in its price range. The cinema style lens give film students a more film camera feel for handling focus operations and lens settings. The camera records to Sony's SxS card format that offers up to 25 minutes of record time per 8 gigabyte card. This is a great addition to our growing array of camera systems.

FILM ACTING PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS


MPI is now accepting audition tapes and applications for the Motion Picture Actors Program slated to begin Sept 22nd. This program only accepts 20 aspiring actors for training in the art of film acting. To learn more attend one of our open houses or call us. For more info (click here).
