Michigan residents who qualify for Individual Training Accounts (ITA) from Michigan Works can get state grants to attend MPI. Michigan Works offers three tuition funding options: No Worker Left Behind, Youth Program and Workfirst. Michigan Works qualified students can use state grant money to finance our tuition for job retraining in the rapidly expanding Michigan film industry.

Screen icons David Carradine (Kill Bill), Richard Lynch (Halloween, Sword & the Sorcerer) and Dee Wallace (ET, Cujo, the Howling) star in this epic tale of terror that follows three generations and one timeless curse. Set in the remote farming community of Perseverance, the Rain follows three families who experience a similar horror though each lives in a different century. The film begins in 1866 as the drought stricken farming community turns to child sacrifice to bring healing rains to their land. Then in 1954 the descendants unearthan old relic that demands further payment for the sins of their forefathers. The third tale is set in modern day as a young girl is struck witha horrible affliction. She is soon faced with an insidious rite of passage that involves sacrificing her younger siblings so that a supernatural rain may be summoned to cure her and the community's ongoing curse.

Michigan recently passed the largest film incentive in the country. An avalanche of LA film productions have now taken root throughout the state. MPI grads have and are finding work on numerous feature and television productions. Dozens of features have applied for the film credit which offers up to a 42% rebate on production expenditures. MPI grads have worked on: Up in the Air (starring George Clooney), Red Dawn, Gran Torino (starring Clint Eastwood), Miss January (starring Kim Catrell), Youth in Revolt (starring Ray Liota), Whip It (starring Drew Barrymore), Demoted (starring Justin Timberlake), Gifted Hands (starring Cuba Gooding Jr.), Prince of the Motorcity (tv pilot), The Man Who Collected Food (indy horror), Red and Blue Marbles (indy) and many others.
